Quick ’n Easy Hamburger Buns
This is a fast method for making hamburger buns without much preparation. They may not look as nice, but they taste great and fulfill the need for a quickly made bun.
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375°. Prepare a light colored cookie sheet by placing parchment paper on it, or spraying with nonstick spray.
- Place frozen loaf of Tracey's Treats frozen millet bread dough on a microwaveable, nonstick surface, such as a piece of plastic wrap sprayed with nonstick spray.
- Microwave loaf for 45 seconds, turn over, then microwave for 45 more seconds, or until just thawed enough to get a knife through the loaf with a little effort. Don't microwave too long or the dough will become too sticky to work with easily.
- Using a sharp knife sprayed with nonstick spray, slice the dough into 4 - 8 pieces (photo 1). The number of slices and width of each slice is variable according to how thick of a bun is desired.
- Note: The two ends will probably be more rounded than the middle slices. The ends can be (1) sliced thinner and placed on top of one another to make one bun; or (2) baked as sliced, then used as dinner rolls; or (3) sliced as thick as the other pieces, then flattened out on the cookie sheet using the sprayed plastic wrap, so as to make a more desirable bun shape.
- Place the sliced dough onto the prepared cookie sheet (photo2).
- Bake hamburger buns for 25 minutes, or until lightly browned.
- Let cool on rack (photo 3).
